Job Description

General Description :

The Store Manager position is instrumental in building customer relationships and fostering a positive and friendly store environment.

The Assistant Store Manager position assists the General Manager with daily store operations including, but not limited to, scheduling, training, and employee supervision.

Our ideal candidate will be skilled at organization and problem solving. Interpersonal and mediation skills are a must as the position acts as a liaison between managers, employees and customers.

The successful candidate is responsible for safely delivering a quality product. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Essential Job Responsibilities :

  • Assist with day-to-day operations
  • Interact positively with employees and customers
  • Manage inventory including ordering, receiving, and stocking.
  • Organization and cleanliness of the store and outside areas
  • Daily bank deposits
  • Daily reporting
  • Serve customers in a courteous and friendly manner.
  • Assist customers with phone orders
  • Respond proactively to customer complaints and concerns
  • Accurately complete cash register transactions
  • Answer customer questions and inquiries
  • Maintain sales and cash receipts.
  • Perform barista duties when needed
  • Fill propane cylinders safely and efficiently
  • Report potential safety hazards
  • Minimum 28 hours at cash register
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities :

  • Promote cooperative effort, a team spirit, and good morale amongst employees
  • Ensure employees receive appropriate training
  • Evaluate team members performance
  • Provide feedback to management on team member performance.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to cover shifts on short notice
  • Able to read and follow directions.
  • Able to operate cash register and count change to customers.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic math and computer skills.

Employee must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and / or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

  • HEARING : The employee frequently is required to talk or hear while answering phones, working with customers, clients, supervisors, etc.
  • VISUAL ACUITY : Must be adequate to perform above listed tasks in a safe manner. Ability to see and complete work on a personal computer and read color coded writing on equipment forms, etc.

Contingencies :

Offer contingent upon ability to pass a pre-employment drug test.

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years barista experience
  • Two years retail experience
  • DEC Safe Food Handler Card required. Must successfully pass online test to obtain card. Employer will pay test fee.
